National News:Tarvinder Singh Marwah, the MLA of BJP from Delhi, has given a statement about the historical buildings to be painted saffron. Buildings and important monuments like Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, Delhi Vidhan Sabha, Connaught Place, and Chandni Chowk will be painted in saffron color. The MLA also said that the proposal will be presented in the monsoon session of the Delhi Assembly.
The MLA Tarvinder won from Jangpura after defeating the Aam Aadmi Party leader, Manish Sisodia. The MLA was born on October 10, 1959, and completed his schooling in Delhi. The MLA won from Jangpura for three consecutive terms from 1998 to 2013 before joining the Bhartiya Janata Party in July 2022, where he was appointed as the head of the Sikh cell of Delhi BJP. Marwah runs a business and earns from several rented properties in Delhi. He was also in the headlines due to controversial statements against Rahul Gandhi.
Even before the statement to paint Delhi saffron, the MLA from Jangpura was also in the headlines due to his statement on the Kanwar Yatra. He said that on Monday he had written a letter to the home minister, Mr. Amit Shah, regarding the closing of all meat shops and liquor shops during the Kanwar Yatra in Delhi. He also said that the letter has been received by the home ministry, and he is set to meet the home minister in 2-3 days.
The BJP MLA further wrote that it is okay to close meat and liquor stores peacefully along the Kanwar Yatra route in Delhi, but if this does not happen, the stores will be closed by force. The MLA has also made it clear that the statement about forcibly closing the shops is his own and not the party's.
